Nice blog, thanks! I am working on the final tweaks of my personal one as well, and glad to know I won't be kicked out of any club for not having a fun icon with it, haha. (I'll use the "a" of "anotions" for standalone stuff.) Definitely will watch your Tweets for part 3 :)

Fair enough, how do you work on other normal logo projects then?

Yeah logo is a hard keyword to get in the name...I was stoked when I got the www.logooftheday.com URL, it wasn't taken at all and I got it for a measly $6.

Look out on JCD for a new ultimate logo design resource coming next week ;) Should be a great help for your new site.

Awaiting part 3.

Damien, Gerasimos and Franz> Thanks for popping by and leaving a comment. Appreciate it.

I'm sure a lot of people have similar thoughts when they do a logo or anything for that matter. Even if my methods are unusual, they still work, they still get me new paid work and Im still happy. So that's what counts at the end of the day.

Joshua> I like the .com/ at the end. I tried it without and I just like the small detail of it. Maybe in time it will disappear, but at the moment I like it. So there. :)

Hi Jacob,
The fonts aspect comes down to what I mentioned about in the post, not really even having time to work on concepts, but having to create results pronto.

So I sometime refer back to this legacy way of working. It can be a very refreshing way of working.

LogoJunkies has been on burn for a while, but with IJC and WAJC and concentrating on marketing myself, it was a side project in terms of priority. Seemed a logical step forward in terms of what I do, and how I want to market and brand myself, plus it's fun. Have several names which I have been buying up over. the last 6 months with 'logo' in the URL, but none I really happy with, until the LogoJunkies popped up.

My host has been having problems with the .es, in that we can't change the name servers, so I have been stuck without the LogoJunkies web site for several weeks. :(

But it's going to be a fun general site on logos, ideas, tips, inspiration, examples, fonts etc.

I found this to be a great read. I find myself going through the same process whenever a a new venture warrants a logo. It's nice to know others are out there dealing with the same struggles of should i or shouldnt i design it personally, how should it look, what should it convey?

The part i most related to: "I did not want this to be a extraordinary creative dream, it needed to be fully functional, practical and keep with my philosophy of smart, clean, minimal design." I completely get this as that is what my current logo does.

I am definitely looking forward to the Part 3 "brand extension" post.
