The Cardinal Blog Blogging Sin - Blog Cruelty

Yep, I have sinned.

Simply, not keeping my blog updated with posts. Am surprised I still have people subscribed, although these are only email subs so when they get a this new update they will nodoubt have trouble remembering who I am.

I have had genuine reasons the last 9 months, things that have
prevented me from functioning ‘usually’, was going to say ‘normally’,
but I don’t think that was appropriate. Simply, my Father dieing early this year utterly derailed me. Many times I have had the urge
to sit down and write something, but my heart has not been in it, but in
not doing so I went against my own promise of not allowing myself to
allow the Blog to sink into obscurity.

Lots has changed for me, in all manner or aspects. I would like to
think mostly positive stuff (still have heinous stuff going on, but just trying to re-focus on WHAT can be done over what can’t be done-easier said than done), certainly have a more positive out look on
my future than I have had this year.

The biggest change is in my career, what I do. Going back to what I do
best, and have done for the last 18 years, Graphic Design, but more
importantly, learning Web Development, ‘proper like’. Not half hearted,
this will be my goal. I want to be a force in Web Standards, I want to
learn the new wave of Web Development, implementing sites that are what
the site viewer wants to see rather than what the arrogant designer
forces on them, no easy thing to do when you are a designer. But it’s
possible, and with the ever rising wave of Web Standards, creating
sites that are accessible, not just cool, but also usable and
functionable will be the focus. But not just a Blog SIte or just a Web
Site, but a WebSite BlogSite combined.

For this reason, I have developed a new Brand that my Freelancer Company will be hailed under "ImJustCreative".
This will be the resting place for my new site, portfolio and Blog. I
really think that GrahamsBlog was more devoted to Mental Health, than
anything else, and I want to move away from that big time. Focusing more on ‘nicer’ things, not depressing things. Talk about Self-Full filling prophecy. Design, creativeness, photography, blogs, web technology (xml, ajax, java, xhmtl, css etc), Apple Macs, some quotes of course and don’t forget my dog, Dylan.

Im not sure
just changing content will do, so I think a new Blog with more relevant
topics to my life will be in order.

It is possible I will export GrahamsBlog into the new ImJustCreative
Blog, but will be posts archived under the hood, not in plain view.
It’s figuring out the best way to achieve the swap or move, that I haven’t decided yet.

Possibly a New Blog Platform as well, looking at SquareSpace which looks damn cool. All things to research.

So many ideas, too many ideas, no idea how to harness them or actually
do anything about them. I guess better that than NO ideas. Just need to
somehow focus and manage my days…
