Photography - Seaford Beach, Rough seas.
A quick visit down to the beach with the 11-18mm wide angle opens up so many more photographic possibilities. Suddenly, whole new landscape interpretations can be captured. A scene taken with a wide angle lens photo now captures more dramatic meaning than one taken with a standard lens.
In this one I have even exaggerated the image by actually adding some vertical distortion in Photoshop using the ‘Lens Correction‘ filter which is actually meant to reduce the distortion created by some wide angle lens’s. But no, always one to rebel I decided to add it. The only real effect of doing this is the horizon line of the sea becomes more spherical, in my eyes, adding more intensity to the waves.
I have played a little further with this by creating 3 layers, the bottom one I applied a ‘Directional Blur‘ filter, then the next layer was set to ‘Overlay‘ with the top most layer set to ‘Hard Light‘. This building of layers enables me to add intensity to the overall image, creating more contrast.
This was the original, minus any effects whatsoever.
It’s clearly not natural but frankly I don’t give a damn. ![]()
