Pantone Messenger Bag Giveaway

Everyone loves Pantone.

Graphic Designers look here! Everyone loves Pantone. Well, I do. Especially after having pretty much grown up with the multitude of Pantone books that followed me around when I worked for various printers and agencies.

They were more valuable than the Dead Sea Scrolls, if one went missing it always usually ended up in heated arguments about who was to blame.

So given the popularity of the Pantone merchandise and its relevance to design and print, and the fact that most designers love cool looking bags to walk around from client to client and meeting to meeting, what better prize than these hugely cool Pantone Messenger Bags.

Important Geographical Information

Due to the size of this item and that I will have to post it to the winner, I can only accept entries from people within Europe, Canada and North America. Im really sorry about this if this excludes you, but I do need to be wary of postage costs and logistics.

How to get your hands on one

So there is ONE up for grabs, and any available colour can be chosen. If you are not already signed up to my RSS feed, then it would be great if you could do so which you can do here IJC RSS Feed . There will be more regular giveaways, so its an ideal way not to miss out on new competitions etc.

As this is a pretty cool item, you need to basically grovel for one. It’s cruel I know, but it’s a sweet prize and frankly, just groveling for something like this is pretty straightforward. Just comes down to how badly you want it. So leave a grovelfull comment below and thats it.

Duplicate entries will be voided.

I will use a random number generator (Random,org) to pick one name from the comments that tickle my fancy. I will then contact the winners to arrange the details of how to get the book.

Please ensure you leave a valid email address as well as your Twitter ID (if you have one) in your comment.

I will pick the winner sometime this coming weekend, I will clarify the exact date on Twitter, so follow me to ensure you don’t miss out on the results as I will tweeting them live.

I will confirm with the winner details on which colour and delivery options, all depends which country you live.

Ah, there is no amount of grovelling I wouldn't do for this. And the sad but true part is that it wouldn't be for me, but for a Pantome mad friend whose hopes and dreams I dashed after promising her the Pantome Rubiks Cube for her birthday without realising they were just a design mock up and you can't buy them.
If I don't get it, give it to Justin two comments up; he'll at least put it to good use.

The fuck is Pantone? Graham, I'm already subscribed to the feed and already follow you. So, here's a little backstory.

I used to spend tons of $ for pantone film to do mock-ups in school. That's right, back in 1993 before we could even use the Macs. I also have owned 56 pantone markers, the ones that were $7 each! just so I could do correct ink simulation when doing presentations. So in essence, i've had pantone products all up in my business for a long time. BUT I've never had a PANTONE bag to carry my heart in. Please be a dear and allow a poor bastard a small reward for all the money and dedication and respect that I've given to PANTONE color systems!

First, I have subscribed to your rss feed which is like having a tiny slice of heaven to look forward to in my google reader everyday.

And now for the good stuff: I'm on bended knee begging for this uber-cool Pantone messenger bag to replace the reusable grocery store bags I now use as carry-alls. My bags are so pitiful and old that I've had to duct-tape the bottoms to prevent losing my contents all over the street. Last week my dog ate one of my bags which required an emergency trip to the vet; I believe she did that because of the faint aroma of salami that permeates my grocery-bag-turned-pseudo-carryall.

I do hereby promise two things:
1) I will tell everyone where I got it and implore them to seek you out and stalk your blog
2) I will never carry salami in my Pantone Messenger Bag

Recently, after hearing it from another designer, I wrote a long opinion based article on Blue Iris being Pantone's color of the year for 2008. I wrote the whole thing as if they picked the color at the end of the year. Just as I was about to finish I decided to get some outside opinions from other websites. I googled it and discovered they pick the color at the beginning of the year. I had to go back and rework the whole thing.
