portfolio & design blog of logo & identity designer, Graham Smith

Flelix Stockwell is a legend. He is renowned for his icon drawing skills, identity design and illustration. He was featured in the last edition of LogoLounge, a showcase of his icon work for the New York Times iPhone application GUI (this link will take you to his post about the process involved with creating the NYTimes GUI).

If you stumble on through his website you will find it is choc full of icon designs, logo designs, sketches, explanations and reasoning. (He uses the rather exclusive Drawger blogging platform which is invite only and even if you get an invite, you  may not get approved by the sites owners).

If you like to see under the hood, to see how a master works his craft, then Felix Stockwell’s website is a mine of information. It is of particular interest to me as I am exploring the icon style of logo design myself. To really go back to clean and powerful imagery, without the fluff.
