ImJustCreative Desktop Pictures - ‘Desert Sunset, Egypt’

This is the first Desktop Photograph, in my ongoing series. So long were the days when you had only a few screen resolutions to accommodate. I haven’t catered for all the small variations you can get, often just a few pixels here or there. If there is demand then yes, I shall.

I have also created a new page called Desktop Pictures which is a sub page of Photographs and here, somewhat surprisingly, will be where these desktop things will be housed. Also, there is a Category especially for these Desktop Pictures.

Feel free to modify these Desktop Pictures as you wish for your own personal use on your computer, but they are Protected under Creative Commons Licence, so should be not used for for commercial gain or passing of as your own work. All photos are taken by myself.

Desktop WallPaper - Desert Sunset

Accommodating all the latest resolutions does take some time as the images have to be cropped, resized individually. But I think I nailed it and have come up with my first Desktop Picture.

In time I will create more and more as I have a staggering collection of photographs to choose from. Admittedly, not all are suitable for background pictures, so I will be most selective with the images I use. The majority are standard digital photo’s with none or little retouching. Some will be considerable color adjusted, but in a way that compliments the image.

Just a little background on this photo. Taken in the Egyptian Black & White desert during a grueling 5 day jeep trek North to South, through some of most inhospitable landscape to the most beautiful. Mostly this good or bad depended on time of day, rather than location. Just catching the sunset behind some dunes, this colouration is totally natural, no fiddling in Photoshop at all for this photo. What you see is how it was and what you get.

I did toy with re-touching out the small circular orange lens flare, but frankly, could just not be arsed. Feel free to do it yourself!
