portfolio & design blog of logo & identity designer, Graham Smith

I want that creative professionally crafted logo that you designed to brand your own business for this Logo Design Series. If you are a freelance designer, freelance developer or have your own fully fledged agency, all our welcome.

Self Promote your logo designs

See it as a means of self promotion in a somewhat obvious unsubtle manor. I’m doing it because I am really into logos, funnily enough, but really curious to know why you came up with the design you did. What motivated you, what inspired you, what reasons for choosing ‘that’ style over all the others you probably discarded.

You can catch up on all the previous submissions here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3Part 4Part 5Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10, Part 11, Part 12, Part 13 & Part 14

- there are a terrific variety of logos being submitted. For my own logo I have created a version of the logo for the post, with a nice background for added impact within the post. But this is not how I usually use the logo, so what I need from you is the logo in format that you feel really best does the logo justice. If it looks better on a white background then send me it on a white background and vice versa. If the logo looks good on a graduated background then send that. I’m easy, however you feel best does the logo justice.

You can see how I designed my own logo in this post : Bastardizing Helvetica for the ImJustCreative Logo Design

Don’t forget the logo description

Also just a few words on the logo, based what I wrote in the 2nd paragraph above. Any information that allows us to see the logo in a bigger picture. Feel free to write as much as you want, in my experience, readers really do enjoy reading the design and thought process.

Two to three paragraphs is usual, but some people have gone on for about 10 paragraphs. I feel the more the better, helps people understand who you are and what makes you tick. So don’t be concerned about writing too much.

Name and Occupation

Please supply your full name, business name and job title with full website URL. This will be the title for each logo submission. Such as this :
‘Graham Smith – ImJustCreative – Logo & Brand Identity Designer – http://imjustcreative.com’

Specifications for the logo file

  1. The image size needs to be a minimum of 470px wide, and 223px deep. Please look through the previous series of posts for ideas on cropping etc.
  2. Please supply me a JPEG with Maximum compression.
  3. Use following naming convention : ‘{yourbusinessname}-logo-design.jpg’. So mine would beimjustcreative-logo-design.jpg’

Deadline

Man, I hate deadlines. So there isn’t one really. Sort of an ongoing series, so as and when.

Where to submit.

Flickr Group Pool

I have recently started posting all previous submitted logo’s to a Flickr Pool called ‘Designers Brands & Logos‘ to further max the self promotion for you guys. Woop.

Looking to get as many as I can, so please do spread the word to any buddies you know that might not be on Twitter.
