Why you should hire me

I am a freelance logo and identity mark designer with over 25 years experience in graphic design, reprographics, advertising, marketing, commercial print, typography and photography. I am passionate and motivated. I obsess over details. My logo designs lean towards the iconic and typographic with minimalist tendencies. I favour clean, solid and type driven designs. I only use commercial and high quality typefaces in my designs. Love to brainstorm wonderful new company names and tag lines. I have a solid online reputation. I hate cliches in logo design.

The Process

It's very simple to hire me for your logo and icon designs. Firstly, fill in the following form, this is like the project brief. Or you can call me to walk through the general process.

Once you have submitted the form, I will usually get back to you within 48 hours. At this point I will either request a phone conversation to go over the details, or if the project is simple, I will just email you with a proposal and invoice to pay the deposit.

Once the deposit is received then we are all set. Further correspondence is likely but depends on the complexity of the project.

Deposit Requirements

Overseas Clients : I usually ask for full payment prior to the project starting due to legal complications with contracts and copyright law.

UK Clients : Deposits between 50% and 75% are required before commencing any project.

Don't have a company name yet?

Don't rush into naming your business. If you are still pondering over a name, or have no idea, then I can help you brainstorm the ideal name for your business. Having a well thought out company name is crucial. Designing a logo when you have helped create the name is the best place to be. I can also help you with the logo tagline. Please call me to discuss further.

Prefer to talk first?

If you would prefer to talk to me prior to filling in the form then this is fine, in a way, I recommend it. You can call me on : +44 7816 527 462 or talk to me via Skype : ImJustCreative. If there is a chance we are to work together, then voice calls will most likely be required during the project, especially if there are complex issues to thrash out. Communication between designer and client is crucial and cannot be avoided.

Quote form for Logo Design

When filling out this quote form, you will notice that I ask quite a few questions. The the more information I have, the more accurate we can be when determining which options would be most beneficial to you. They help me first of all decide which price bracket the project should fall into. Also, because we cannot have the traditional physical meeting, I need to ask these question in order to get on track.

Some pointers

Logos are like personalities, they are alive, they have soul. They need to have a personality that reflects the message you want to convey.

When filling in this form, remember to think on a emotional level, what emotions do you want people to feel when they see your logo for the first time, how do you want them to react.

Try to some up, sell me what you do in 6 words or less.

Give me as much information about your brand, your company, your message, your personality. Give me keywords that sum up all that comes to mind.

It doesn't happen cheaply or quickly

Please be mindful that most commercial agencies will usually present at least a 2-4 month project life span. Anything less means that the time needed to research, to explore appropriate avenues is severely restrictive.

I can give you an estimate on project duration, but this is only a guide. Projects can quickly become more than the initial idea. Please make allowances for possible project delays, especially if the project is complex and becomes more than anticipated. This is usual, and not uncommon.

Being a freelancer designer, the development time is reduced as the need to manage people and liaise is lessened. But the more time you can allocate the designer for the logo, the better for everyone. Good logo design takes time and can't often be rushed. If you want a good solid well researched logo identity then please bear all this in mind when specifying an ideal project completion deadline.

If you are looking for a logo to be completed within a week, then the overall development of usually can suffer. Equally, if you are keen to spend as little as possible on a logo but expect grande things, then generally this is a situation that will cause some difficulty. The very old saying is more than applicable here "you get what you pay for" and that is so true with logo and identity design.

Budget

The budget specified is tied in with how much a designer can allocate per job. The less the overall budget, the less time the designer can research and come up with a truely unique and meaningful logo. So if you need some advice on timings and budget, then please do contact me in advance for guidance.

The logo is your identity, it is the front line. It's not wise to hold back on the budget if you are serious about having a recognisable and unique logo identity.
