Picture_9_1So since the last update, I think a few weeks back, things on the medication front have been pretty OK. I am down now to just 75mg, half in the morning and half in the evening.

I was planning on coming off them completely by now, but I realised that with my Father so very ill and my partners awful experience of loosing her children, which has obviously affected me greatly, I felt it was prudent to stay on a maintenance dose.

I will no doubt come down to 37.5mg in the next several weeks. The only
other drug I am on is Lamotrogine which is still at 100mg. I will
remain on this all the time I am on Venlafaxine.

But side affects or withdrawal symptoms I have ‘think’ disapeared for
the most part. No brain shivers, no stomach problems, no dizziness.
However I am fatigued, exhausted during the day and not sleeping
particularly well, even on sedatives but I am putting this down to just
the sheer emotional stress I am under and how hard it is to remain
focused in the face of such despair. I am not overly bothered with the
exhaustion… just taking it easy and saving my strength for my parents
and Anna.

Marissa at Depression Introspection. her post A final Update on my Effexor Withdrawal’ has also been going through the withdrawal, with some similar positive end results.
