Diary Entry 09/11/06 - Real you
Today, after idly walking around London, I sat down on the steps of St Pauls Cathedral, cold and isolated just staring out and watching people going about their own lives.
It was bitter cold, just wearing a shirt and casual suit jacket, and sat cross legged, blankly looking and thinking. For me
though I was contemplating the events of the day and wept, cold tears running down my face.
Did I care? Nope. However, a man came up and
hugged me and said "good for you son". A wonderful and rare moment of
human goodness and not at all inappropriate.
I was humbled and for a brief moment felt some warmth. Walking around London with the weight of the world on yout shoulders in the cold is probably not the best plan, but I was making the best of a crazy situation.
