After a week of trying to get this FontBook giveaway results post together, I have finally managed to sort through all the comments left and shove them into Random Critters mouth for a random vomit announcement of the winner.
Clipper Font by Dominic Le-hair is one super fat font and thus has been added to the ImJustCreative free and opensource font library for your viewing and downloading pleasure. Ideal for display designs, and the foundation for logotypes, initials etc.
Although Miso is not a new font on the scene, it has recently become a firm favorite of mine. Although I added it to www.font72.com a while back, felt it was worth adding to my free and open source font library here on IJC as well.
This is not a traditional client logo project, far from it. Frankly, I’m not sure how I even got to this stage with it. All I know was that this idea initially grew from previous project, and through various tweaks and ideas, it slowly developed into it’s own identity. An identity for a graphic design company or freelancer called Graphic Skyline.
As the ‘Typographic Desk Reference’ giveaway was so damn popular, I thought what else might cause such eager interest. So this giveaway pulls no punches, ‘FontBook’, or affectionately known in privileged circles as the ‘The Big Yellow Book’ by Fontshop, could be sitting on your desk in several weeks time.
Congratulations to @jack_carlson for being randomly picked as the winner for the TDR giveaway. I really sincerely appreciate all those that took part, and followed me regardless of the outcome.
More free fonts added to the ImJustCreative free and opensource font library. This time a double helping from Pablo Caro, with two interesting styles to choose from. One being a rounded geometric font and the other a very cool, paint brushed effect slab serif. Read on and download for free and use.
Time for something different to giveaway. No Helvetica Moleskines, or Type Trumps, instead, this most essential resource book for type fiends everywhere. Yes, you too can have a copy of the ‘Typographic Desk Reference’ book sitting on your bed stand, as you lovingly caress it’s textured hard surface, and you marvel at the sheer majesty of this epic publication.
IlliadSans Font made by Fábio Duart Martins – www.loligovulgaris.com. IlliadSans Font is far from complete, but does have a full compliment of lowercase characters in all 3 weights: Extra Light, Book and Black. Available as a Beta font for download here on ImJustCreative.
Here we have a new typographic based poster design, free for download, based on one of my favourite quotes. “The probability of somebody watching you is proportional to the stupidity of your actions.” Have been fond of this quote for years, and have used it numerous time in my personal blogs.
Zag regular and bold are free custom sans fonts which are applicable for any type of graphic and logo design – web, print, motion graphics etc and perfect for t-shirts and other items. These are OpenType format. There are 7 styles in the family, two of which are free to download. The remaining 5 can be purchased from MyFonts.
Blackout font is a new release, as it popped into my inbox this morning, so grab it whilst it is still fresh and start playing with it. If you have not visited The League of Movable Type yet, then I would take a minute or two to check it out and sign up to their RSS feed. It’s a class site, and they are encouraging people to design and make available class fonts for the Open Source community.
This free font came hurtling down my broadband connection courtesy of TypeNue. MOO! is a free font, a ultra-fat, electro-style, geometric typeface. It was designed focusing on logotypes, titles and display letterforms, with cut-out diacritics. Download here.
Days is another neat and free typeface, again found on Behance, a real treasure trove of delights. This is so clean, modern and stylish. Love the curves, the rounded edges, the compact ‘squared’ feel. I can see this being perfect for certain styles of logo designs.
I posted about Logarde Thin a short while ago and since then has seen terrific interest in this font. Most, if not all, that see this font love it. As promised in the previous post, ‘Logarde Thin – Free Typeface for Immediate Download’, here is an update from Sebastian.
So this came through from Design You Trust this morning, another brilliant news flash. A ridiculously manic typography t-shirt, like, real geeky stylie. The only issue I see with this is that the explanations are set quite small, so interested strangers may be tempted to come up like real close and stare at your chest. Imagine the situation down the pub after a few Stella’s. Lord.
