Typographic letterpress prints Sheaff : Ephemera. They have been given the rather grand title of Typotecture’s, formed from the architectural nature of the designs
Came across this cute Letterpress documentary video via Google whilst searching for ‘all things’ letterpress for a client of mine. We are looking at this or embossing for her logo design, although I can’t rightly decide what will be the best route.
A typographic font chart for moustach lovers everywhere.
I was approached late last year by Foehn & Hirsch and asked if I would consider taking on the job of rebranding their existing identity. In terms of client prestige, this was a epic challenge for me. Certainly the biggest project I had yet taken on in terms of overall project requirements.
Further to my mini-series on vintage building signage and typography ‘Robins Brewery’ and ‘Vintage Typography in the Wild’, this post tackles a modern version of these painted building signs. The building in question is based in the historic town of Lewes and sits on the edge of the towns main through road junction.
Lineto is a beauty of a website, leaves you in no doubt the attention to detail lavished on their creations. The website deserves a good rummage around, check out all their fonts, specifically the LL Replica type family for which this specimen book has been created and the focus of this post.
Just had to share these photos of typography in and around New York City. Taken by a friend of mine, Maxine (wander_by_trade), they show a bewildering variety of typography based subway signage, posters, general signs as well as decades old wood and stone building engravings. Not to mention the odd appearance of Helvetica.

Stunning typographic posters from HappyCentro. This series is a part of a whole alphabet. The concept was: Take a letter of an alphabet, looking for a selection of 10 cities in the world that starts with this letter, say which languages are spoken in these places, say where are you from and which is your language. It was a research project around the concept of the TRAVELLING.
Just started a silly little typographic gallery based on the Ninja word being designed in anyway you see fit. Called ‘Your Inner Ninja’ this is a way to show anyone who cares how you usually internally visualise the word ‘Ninja’ in a typographic style.
Kilogram font is designed by Karl from Kalle Graphics and was based on a font called Anagram by Nick Curtis. Kudos to Karl for designing such a stunning font and not charging for it. Not to mention the work Karl has put into creating the various promo designs for Kilogram, some of which are here. Visit his website to see the full collection of designs based on Kilogram.

Following my last post on vintage building typography and signage, I went out on a mission to try and find further examples of this throw back to a time forgotten. I am even more ashamed that in all my 37 years in this small town, I have not fully noticed this gem of a vintage hand painted wall advertisement.
