When a Client Loves Your Logo Design

When a client 'loves your logo', hearing those words can make all the difference to your day, your feeling of self, your confidence and just providing a general sense of work satisfaction.

Loves Your Logo Design

Yesterday this email just flew into my Inbox, and although it's short, it's incredibly sweet, and it just hit-the-spot.

In particular just the, "I LOVE THE LOGO!!!!", all in upper-case and multiple exclamation marks really stoked me.

This email from Andrea really made my day.

Hi Graham,

I am writing from the new chemav e-mail account and you can use it now on.

I LOVE THE LOGO!!! So, I'd like you to proceed with the next stage including colours evaluation.

Many thanks, I love it

Have a nice evening

Andrea

I need a logo designed

Yup, gratuitous self promotion time.

Frankly, it's been a somewhat sloth pace like start to the year, and a couple of logo project cancellations has left me with more space in my calendar than I would like.

"I need a logo designed!"

If you are looking for a 'professional' logo designer—I do so much hate using that overused word, professional, it just makes one sound so dick'ish, but there are reasons to use it on very rare occasions, and for me, this is that one rare occasion—to craft you a meticulously appropriate new logo design, then I'm certainly keen and very able capable.

To help you find your feet, and steer you in the right direction, here are some useful page links for you (hopefully in order of usefulness):

  1. Logo Design Portfolio
  2. Price Guide
  3. FAQ's
  4. Enquiries
  5. Logo Design/Creative Brief (this is a somewhat lengthy form that ultimately needs to be completed before a logo project can start, so feel free to jump straight right in with this)

If forms and things aren't your thing, then please do feel free to just call me up to discuss: 07816 527 462.

Let's create sweet sweet magic together…

Ever since finding Google's Latin universal translator I have spent many moments trying to figure out the best English to Latin version of my "Yes. I design logos…" self-promo posters.

It's snot so easy as it happens. If you happen to speak fluent Latin I would love to hear from you. Thinking I could do with Daniel from StarGate right about now.

My language skills are non-existent, period, for which I am most assuredly ashamed. Little surprise then that Latin is proving a little tricky to grasp.

This phrase above see is about the best I could manage, that reads reasonably well as is, and when properly translated. Some of the variations I tried to wrangle were just hilarious to read.

This hilarity comes when you type in English to get Latin, and then type in that Latin translation and retranslate back to English. This is where one might expect the results to be the same, and/or similar. Ha ha. Far from it in some cases.

The fact is that formidabilis (formidable) has translation variations of: fear of, of dread and awful. The latter not quite the message in mind.

Here are a few of the little tag-lines:

• Keeping it cultural since '86 — Custodientes culturae cum '86 — Keeping with the culture of the '86.
• Running with the Latin hipsters since 86. — Cursu cum Latini hipsters cum LXXXVI — Course with the Latin hipsters with '86.

These were some of the tamer translations of "Yes. I design logos."

• Yes. I design kick ass logos — Sic. Ego designabis calcitrant asinum logos — So. I will will design the kick ass logos.
• I design formidable logos — Ego designabis formidabilis logos — I formidable will design the logos.
• I am the best logo designer ever — Ego sum optimum logo excogitatoris semper — I am always the best logo designer.

And to wrap this cultural exercise up

• The original Logo Smith — originali logo pulsata — shake in the original logo .

Yes. I design logos.

Who's to say I can't design logos, and  spread love and kind words on a special day via my commonly unfunny self promotional images?

I'm going for the hard sell on a day of religious celebration, but I am OK with that because it comes wrapped up in a nice message.

"Yes. I design logos, but far more importantly than that: I wish you all a chocolate fuelled frenzy this Easter."

Time for another wry style self-promo piece. Started listening to Greg Proops: The Smartest Man in the World on Podcast last night and was in a constant state smirking and laughing.

A phrase he seems to throw in quite often at the end of a particular piece is, "…and shit like that."

I just find that a brilliant sign-off.
