My wait and my daily prayers have been dutifully answered. I have been looking to upgrade my rather battered 17′ Powerbook for sometime now. Mainly coz the trackpad is bust, so that kinda makes it hard to take it and use anywhere other than home. Ofcourse I could get a mouse and use it that way, but I really do not see why I should. So I am not!
Now, I know Apple well enough to know, as many others, that they roll out these upgrades, without any fanfare or due notice.
For the last month whilst I have been chewing over which size MacBook
Pro to get, somewhere in the back of my mind I had a feeling that a
update was due. So every day, often several times a day, I would check
Apple’s website just on the off chance that they had updated the
MacBook Pro’s.
This week I had decided to opt for the 17" again, and so was working out
the best way to purchase it. But again, something nagged at me to hold
off for a bit.
And lo and behold, not just 10mins ago I logged onto Apple’s Website and there it was…
The New MacBook Pros with Intel Core 2 Duo have arrived!
Obviously I was somewhat excited by this news and my previous care to
not rush into a purchase was well founded. Quick look at the spec’s
confirmed the news. More RAM, bigger hardrive, more power, up to 39%
apparently. The 17" now comes with 2Gb Ram as standard with a 160md
drive. All 3 now have Firewire 800 as standard.
Well, I really don’t need to go into all the specifics right now, but needless to say, I am now going for the 17".
Really bloody nice.
