Was really neat to be asked frankly and I jumped at the opportunity. Not intent to leave waffling comments on his blog, now I could actually get center stage. Wonderful. Nice to see your work somewhere else, where far more people are likely to read it.

It’s hard to find a balance with content. Easy if you are writing a personal Blog or Journal, pretty much anything goes. But the moment you develop a Business Type Front End, then you have to be a bit more choosy over what you write about.

The idea is to make your photos work for you and your Blog every time someone views your photos. There is a bit of a gap between how Flickr and your Blogs talk, yes you can link them up to post updates, blog photos from Flickr etc, but it’s still quite disparate.

These include basic RSS logos, Pownce, FriendFeed, Jaikur, W3C CSS and XHTML Validator chicklets.
These were initially created for myself, rather than using existing chicklets or not being able to find any at all. Mostly for my various Lifestreams, social aggregators and feeds. It’s not rocket science to make these, but if you like them, please feel free to use them for yourself. I do ask a small favour though, see below.

So Niche is not the answer, it’s an alternative, but don’t get caught up in the general hype that finding a Niche subject will mean a long lasting blog career. It’s more likely to be a short lived career, which could be just the ticket. Depends which way you look at it and what you want out from it.

Taken during the storms earlier in March down at my beach in Seaford, East Sussex. It was certainly a grim day, but it all makes it worthwhile when you have clouds, rough sea and a glimpse of the sun shining through the clouds and reflecting of the water. IT takes just the right ingredients to turn an average shot into something more dramatic. Nothing much else to say about this one really other than some Photoshop work that I ended up doing.

Feeling you must Blog everyday for the sake of keeping readers is a BIG Blogging myth. As I said previously, frequency is important for Google maybe, but I really feel it’s not important for maintaining true reader loyalty. I subscribe to some top blogs that only post once a week, sometimes once a fortnight. Even then, it may not be of interest to me, but I know that once and while, a top post will be written. That’s enough for me to stay susbcribed.

New to Tumblr, but am already hooked by it’s simplicity and coolness. I’ll save my thoughts on Tumblr for another post, but in the meantime here are some logos for you. These are linked directly to my Flickr account.

Nothing special here in terms of creation, but I tried looking all over the place for a Flickr ‘chicklet’, none that I could see. Works ok small, looks awful enlarged. So best not to enlarge it.

It’s clearly not natural but frankly I don’t give a damn.

Nothing much to say here really. Couldn’t find a chicklet much like I couldn’t for the Flirck logo, so just ended up doing one myself for my own site. But if you like it you are more than free to grab it and use it yourself.

This is my favorite by far and it’s a recent photo taken during the storms of last week down the beach at Seaford near the Cuckmere Valley. Yes, I do live in a small sleepy town called Seaford, about 12 miles East of Brighton and about 8 miles West of Eastbourne.

I am still a Firefox user, simply because it seems better supported with plug-ins, some of which are totally invaluable to me. One such example is the Web Developer plug-in by Chris Pederick, which I posted about a few weeks ago.
